About Advanced Ḥanafī Fiqh

This program is designed for students with basic fiqh knowledge, ready to explore intermediate to advanced Ḥanafī jurisprudence. Through live instruction and classical texts, you’ll gain clarity, confidence, and legal insight grounded in tradition.

Five Stages

Ḥanafī Fiqh Curriculum

The Books

Mukhtaṣar al-Qudūrī, with Rasm al-Muftī and the structure of the madhhab from ʿUqūd Rasm al-Muftī of Ibn ʿĀbidīn, Fiqh Ahl al-ʿIrāq wa Ḥadīthuhum of Muḥammad Zāhid al-Kawtharī, and some madkhal works

Nūr al-Īḍāḥ with its sharḥ Marāqī al-Falāḥ, for learning ʿibādāt in detail

A sharḥ-level work: al-Lubāb (a sharḥ of al-Qudūrī) or al-Ikhtiyār (a sharḥ of al-Mukhtār), depending on the students and their reading ability

Specialised works on areas of law that need more attention, such as al-Birgivī’s risāla on ḥayḍ, mutūn on fasting, and al-Sirājiyya for inheritance

Al-Hidāya, possibly preceded by a more detailed sharḥ-level work such as Sharḥ al-Wiqāya

Uṣūl al-Fiqh, alongside stage three

Manār al-Anwār of Ḥāfiẓ al-Dīn al-Nasafī

Shaykh Imran Ahmed

Imran Ahmed has been privately studying the Islamic sciences part-time for well over a decade. He has an interest in many Shar'i disciplines, with a focus on Hanafi fiqh. He has studied texts in disciplines including Sarf (morphology), Nahw (syntax), Balaghah (eloquence), Al-'Arud (poetic meter), Mantiq (syllogistic logic), 'Aqidah (theology), 'Ulum al-Qur'an and Tafsir (exegesis of the Qur'an), Mustalah al-Hadith (Hadith terminology and methodology), Hadith collections, Fiqh (substantive law), Usul al-Fiqh (jurisprudential methodology). He is also interested in editing manuscripts (tahqiq al-makhtutat).

Some of the teachers he has studied with include Shaykh Samer al-Nass, Mufti Abdur Rahman Mangera, Shaykh Faraz Rabbani, Mufti Ismail Moosa, Shaykh Jihad Brown, Shaykh Haroon Hanif, and Shaykh Mohammed Daniel.

Prerequisites for joining the program:

Study of some text in ʿibādāt, covering ṭahāra, ṣalāh, and all farḍ ʿayn knowledge including ʿaqīda and fiqh.

Enough Arabic grammar and morphology (naḥw, ṣarf) to read a basic matn, understand its sentence structure and look up unfamiliar words.
