About Shafi’i Fiqh
The Advanced Shafi‘i Fiqh program is designed for students who have completed foundational fiqh studies and aim to deepen their knowledge of Shafi‘i legal rulings. Under the guidance of Shaykh Mahdi Lock — learners engage with classical works and high-level legal reasoning in an interactive format.
Prerequisites:
- Completed introductory Shafi‘i fiqh courses (e.g., Arkview Essentials or equivalent)
- Familiarity with Arabic grammar and basic fiqh terms
- Ability to study from core text: Matn Abi Shuja‘ or similar foundational works
Advanced Aqida Curriculum
Matn Abi Shuja‘
Core principles of Shafi‘i methodology and rulings
Sharh and Commentary
Live study of al-Taqrīrāt al-Sadīda, progressing to deeper commentary
Advanced Texts
Transition to classical works like Manhaj al-Ṭālibīn and related sharḥs
Practical Application
Cover topics in ibadah (acts of worship), transactions, family law, and legal rationale
